One Culture Youth Mentoring Program

One Culture Support Services is seeking candidates living with a disability between the age of 16-25 who are transitioning from or have recently completed secondary studies to join their free One Culture Youth Mentoring Program as mentees.

Mentees have the opportunity to join one of three, 16 week Youth Mentoring Programs. The mentees will be partnered with a mentor who has a disability and is studying or has completed a tertiary degree at University/TAFE or is engaged in the workforce. The mentors will assist in the mentees personal development through finding career pathways of interest and connecting them with the right people and resources to support their advancement.

Mentees involved in the Youth Mentoring Program also have the opportunity to:

- Become more independent and confident commuting around Adelaide through transport training

- Understand what tertiary study and employment might look like and develop transition plans

- Develop the acquired skills in resume writing and interview practice

- Converse with University Career Advisors, who will provide great insight into how mentees can pursue future opportunities

- Form a close friendship/bond with a mentor that has overcome similar obstacles in life

- Participate in personal development and group based activities

- Complete activities and content which will improve personal skills in areas of personal responsibility, adaptability and patience, positive communication, problem solving, independence, group communication, conflict resolution, growth mindset, planning, self development, reflective practice and more!
