Dr Romain Briest, Paediatric Neurologist

Dr Romain Briest | Paediatric Neurologist

MBBS, FRACP

Dr Briest is a Paediatric Neurologist. He sees babies, children, and adolescents up to 18 years of age for neurological concerns, including headaches, tics, seizures, epilepsy, or where developmental delay may indicate a possible neurological component or cause.

He understands the impact a neurological condition can have on children and families and enjoys working with them to understand their diagnosis and help improve their lives.

Dr Briest combines his private practice with a public appointment at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He sees patients privately at Prosper Paediatrics at 50 South Terrace, Adelaide.

He is a member of the RACP’s Australian and New Zealand Child Neurology Society and the Epilepsy Society of Australia, having gained admission to the College in 2021.

Dr Briest graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2012. He trained in paediatric neurology at the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick. He has post-graduate training in epilepsy, focusing on the evaluation and management of complex epilepsy and also has a research interest in paediatric stroke and stroke-like illnesses. He is excited to be back in Adelaide with family and friends after a number of years away building his skills.

When not at work, Dr Briest enjoys reading fantasy fiction, investing a few too many hours in sprawling video games, and playing board games with friends.
